Privacy notice

PriceTrack watches public product pages on Nigerian online shops and publishes a price board that anyone can read without logging in. Most of what we store is about products, not about people. This page says exactly what we hold, where it sits, and what you can ask us to do about it.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Ranked Technologies Limited, a company registered in Nigeria with RC number 9522220, at Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.

We are registered with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) under registration NDPC/DCP/14538. If you need the certificate for a filing, ask us and we will send it.

We have not appointed a data protection officer. There is no privacy team behind a separate address. Every privacy question goes to the same place as every other question, support@ranked.ng, and is handled by the people who run the service.

2. Where the site runs and where the data sits

PriceTrack runs on a Mac Studio that we own and operate in Istanbul, Türkiye. The price history, the watch settings and the board files are all written to disk on that machine. They are not held in Nigeria, and they are not held with a cloud hosting provider.

Cloudflare sits in front as the network provider. Cloudflare terminates the TLS connection and forwards the request to our server through a private tunnel, so your request passes through Cloudflare's global network before it reaches us. Cloudflare sees your IP address and the request headers as part of delivering the page. That part is Cloudflare's own processing under their terms, not something we store.

Because the controller is a Nigerian company and the processing happens in Türkiye, this is a cross-border transfer of data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. We are stating it here, in advance, rather than burying it. The safeguard is simple and limited: the machine is ours, it sits in premises we control, and we are the only people with access to it. There is no third party data centre operator handling the files.

3. Whether this site has accounts

It does not. There is no sign-up form on PriceTrack, no username, no password reset, no profile, and no field anywhere on the public site that asks for your name, your email address or your phone number.

The tool at /app/ is protected by a single shared password that our own staff use to add and edit watches. It is one password with no username attached, so it does not identify a person and it does not create an account for you. If we ever open self-serve accounts, this page changes before that happens, not after.

4. What PriceTrack actually stores

Everything in this list is about products and shop pages. We checked the running deployment before writing it.

Watch configuration

For each product we follow: the store product URL, a title we type ourselves, a store tag, how often the page is checked, and the change rules. We enter all of it. Visitors do not.

Price history

For each check: the price read from the page, whether the item showed as in stock, and the time of the check. This is what draws the price line on the board.

A copy of the fetched page

A compressed copy of the shop page as it came back, kept so a price reading can be traced to what the page actually said. It is the shop's own public page, not anything of yours.

The published board

board.html and board.json, rebuilt after each round of checks and served to everyone with no login.

There is no customer table, no order table, no mailing list and no contact record in this deployment, because nothing on the site collects one.

5. Cookies

The public pages, meaning the home page, the price board and the JSON feed, set no cookies at all. We confirmed this against the live server rather than assuming it.

The tool at /app/ sets one cookie named session when the login page loads. It is marked HttpOnly, it is scoped to the /app path, and it holds a cross site request forgery token and whether the login succeeded. It is needed for the login to work. It never reaches the public pages.

There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no tag manager, no tracking pixel, no embedded fonts loaded from another company, and no third party script of any kind on the public pages. That is not a promise for the future, it is what is on the server today, and it is the reason the site has no cookie banner.

6. Server logs

The web server writes an ordinary request log: the time, the path requested, the response code, the size, and the browser user agent string. It also writes a source address, and here is the honest detail: because every request reaches us through the Cloudflare tunnel, the address written in our log is the internal address of the tunnel on our own machine. It is the same value for every visitor. Our own log therefore does not tell us who visited or from where.

These logs live in the container output on the same machine in Istanbul. We read them when something breaks. We do not build profiles from them and we do not pass them to anyone.

7. When you leave the site

Every product row on the board links out to the shop's own page. When you click one, you are on Konga, Slot or Supermart, and that shop sees your visit under its own privacy policy. We have no control over that and no visibility into it.

In the other direction, our server fetches those shop pages on a schedule. It identifies itself honestly as PriceTrack with a link back to this site, and it never checks a page more than once an hour. That traffic comes from our server, never from your browser.

8. What we do not do

• We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not send email from this site. No mail relay is configured, so we cannot email you even if we wanted to, and we will never claim to have sent you something from here.
• No alerting service is connected today. The notification list on the server is empty, which means we hold no chat identifier, no phone number and no email address for alerts. If we connect one later, only the product, the old price, the new price and the link would go out, and this page will say so first.
• We do not use the data to train a model, and no language model is wired into this deployment.

9. How long things are kept

Price history and page copies are kept for as long as we are following that product. If we stop following a product and delete the watch, its history and page copies go with it.

We have not set an automatic deletion schedule for price history yet, and we are not going to print a number here that the server does not enforce. The price chart on the board shows the last 30 days, but that is a display window, not a deletion rule. When we set a real schedule we will write it on this page.

10. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us to give you a copy of any personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, stop or restrict what we are doing with it, object to that processing, or hand it over in a portable form. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if you think we have got it wrong.

To use any of these, write to support@ranked.ng. We will answer within 30 days. In most cases the honest answer will be that we hold nothing about you, because the public side of this site collects nothing, and we will say that plainly rather than making the request feel complicated.

11. What is not in place

We would rather list these than let a boilerplate paragraph imply otherwise.

• No data protection officer is appointed. Requests go to support@ranked.ng.
• There is no off-machine backup. The data sits on our own server and nowhere else, which also means a hardware failure could lose the price history.
• We hold no security certification, no ISO standard, and we have not been through an external audit or a penetration test of this site.
• No fixed retention period is enforced for price history yet, as set out above.
• The server is in Türkiye, not Nigeria. If in-country storage is a requirement for you, it is not something this deployment meets today.

12. Changes to this notice

If what we store or where we store it changes, we change this page and move the date at the top. There is no mailing list to announce it on, so the date is the record.
